AAHA-accredited Means Giving Your Pets the Highest Quality Care
Since we first opened our doors in 1971, Whitney Veterinary Hospital has been AAHA accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association, or AAHA for short. We’ve always held ourselves to higher standards, both with our veterinary services for pets and with our fine customer service to you, the loving pet owner. We believe pets matter, and that’s why we’re pleased to be an AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital here in Peoria.
What Is AAHA?
AAHA is the only organization that accredits veterinary hospitals in North America. It was established in 1933 by leading veterinary professionals, with the purpose of recognizing companion animal hospitals that provide high-quality care while maintaining the highest standards of excellence.
To become an accredited member of AAHA, a practice must be evaluated on over 900 standards of veterinary excellence which were created by the organization. To maintain accreditation, a practice must undergo and pass an onsite inspection every three years. The Standards of Accreditation that AAHA created are continuously evaluated and updated, so practices with the “accredited” status stay at the forefront of veterinary medicine. Did you know that only 12-15% of veterinary hospitals in the U.S. and Canada have met the rigorous standards set by AAHA? We are so proud to be one of them!
